Choose a Forever realm
Pick the ruleset realm your WoW Forever guild plays on, and understand what that choice controls.
WoW Forever is not realm-based the way the other games are. Instead of a long list of named realms there is one realm per ruleset. A Forever guild on Guild Pro therefore picks its realm from a short list instead of typing a name. This page is for admins setting up or changing a Forever guild.
The realms you can pick
| Realm | Notes |
|---|---|
| Normal | |
| PvP | |
| Roleplay | |
| Hardcore | Shown as Hardcore — arriving later. Blizzard has announced it but it is not open yet. You can already select it. |
Pick the realm when you add Forever
- Open Settings at /g/your-guild/settings (“your-guild” is your guild’s address).
- On the Games card, choose WoW Forever in Add a game.
- Choose your realm in Realm. The first option, Pick a ruleset realm, is a placeholder and cannot be saved.
- Press Add game.
If you do not pick one, you see “Pick a Forever realm: Normal, PvP, Roleplay or Hardcore.”
Change the realm later
- Open Settings on your Forever guild page.
- On the Guild card, choose a different realm in Realm.
- Press Save.
On a Forever guild, Realm is always a dropdown. On every other game it is a text box where you type the realm’s name.
What the realm controls
- It keeps Forever data separate. Data synced from a Forever realm is filed under your Forever guild page and never under your other game’s page, even though both pages share a name and a Discord server.
- It labels the guild. The realm appears under the guild’s name in the sidebar and on invite pages.
Forever data is also kept off the other games’ public leaderboards. It appears under the Forever tab of the public site only.
Good to know
- You need to be an admin to set or change the realm.
- Realms are named by ruleset. There are no individual server names to choose between.
