Invite people with a link
Create an invite link, share it, turn it off, and see who joined through it.
An invite link lets somebody join your guild on Guild Pro in one click. You create links on the Recruitment page, which is open to officers and admins. This page also covers what the person following the link sees.
Before you start
- Open Recruitment at /g/your-guild/recruitment (“your-guild” is your guild’s address).
- By default, officers and admins can create links. An admin can change that under Who can invite.
- Guild Pro follows the game: a person can be in one guild at a time. Somebody already in another guild must leave it first. Your own guild’s pages for different games count as one guild, so a member of one can join the other.
Create a link
- On the Recruitment page, find the Invite links card.
- Set the options:
| Field | Choices |
|---|---|
| Joins as | Raider, Officer or Admin. You only see roles up to your own. |
| Expires | Never, 30 minutes, 6 hours, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days. |
| Uses | No limit, 1 use, 5 uses, 10 uses or 25 uses. |
| Note | Optional. A reminder for you, such as where you posted it. Joiners never see it. |
- Press Create link.
- In the table, press Copy beside the new link and paste it wherever you recruit.
A link with no expiry and no use limit is the normal choice for a guild that is always recruiting. A link can never grant more than the person who made it holds, so an officer cannot make an admin link.
Turn a link off
- Find the link in the Invite links table.
- Press Turn off.
The link stops working at once. The Status column shows active, off, expired or used up. Links that no longer work stay in the table as a record.
See who joined
The Recent joins card lists the people who came in through a link, newest first, with the link they used. They also appear on Members & alts.
Choose who can invite
Admins only.
- On the Recruitment page, find Who can invite.
- In Allowed, choose one of:
- Admins only
- Officers and admins (the default)
- Anybody in the guild
- The setting saves when you change it.
What the person joining sees
- They open the link and see your guild’s name, realm, faction, game and member count.
- If they are not signed in, they press Continue with Discord and come back to the same page.
- If the link makes them an officer or an admin, the page says so before they join.
- If they already have characters on Guild Pro, they tick the ones to bring under Which characters are you bringing? Unticked characters stay theirs and stay off your roster. Characters already on the roster of your guild’s page for another game are not listed.
- They press Join [your guild] and land on the guild dashboard.
Somebody with no characters yet can still join and add them later.
When a link does not work
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| “That link does not work” | The link was mistyped or cut short. |
| “That invite has been turned off.” | Somebody pressed Turn off. |
| “That invite has expired.” | The expiry time passed. |
| “That invite has been used as many times as it was allowed.” | The use limit was reached. |
| “You are already in [another guild].” | They must leave that guild from their profile first. The link still works afterwards. |
In each case, create a fresh link or ask the person to leave their other guild.
