Sign-in problems

Fix errors when signing in to the website with Discord or connecting the companion app.

Guild Pro has no passwords of its own. You sign in to the website with Discord, and the companion app connects by having you approve a short code on the website. This page lists the errors each step can show.

Signing in on the website

When a sign-in fails you are sent to /me, which shows one of these messages.

“Sign-in was cancelled.”You closed or declined the Discord screenClick Sign in with Discord again and approve it
“That sign-in link had expired. Try again.”More than 10 minutes passed on the Discord screen, the sign-in was started in a different browser, or cookies are blockedStart again from the website and finish in the same browser. Allow cookies for guildpro.io.

“Discord would not tell us who you are.”Discord did not return your account detailsTry again
“Discord did not send a code back.”The return from Discord was incompleteStart again from the website, not from a bookmarked or copied Discord link
“Could not create your account.”The website could not save your accountTry again. If it repeats, see Get help.

What Discord is asked for

The website asks Discord for two things: who you are, and the list of servers you are in. The server list is used to show where you can add the bot. Guild Pro cannot read your messages or act as you.

You signed in with the wrong Discord account

The website uses whichever Discord account your browser is logged in to. Sign out of Guild Pro, switch accounts on discord.com in the same browser, then sign in to Guild Pro again.

Connecting the companion app

The browser did not open

Click open the page again in the app. If the app shows “Could not open your browser. Go to” followed by an address, type that address into your browser. You can also open /pair yourself and type in the code the app is showing.

The pairing page asks you to sign in to the website first if you are not signed in. You come back to the same page with the code still filled in.

The app keeps signing itself out

Clicking Roll on the /import page replaces the upload key for your account and disconnects every paired computer. Each one has to sign in again. Do not roll the key unless you believe it has leaked.

The app is signed in as the wrong person

The app connects to whichever website account approved the code. Click sign out at the bottom of the app window. In your browser, sign out of Guild Pro and sign in with the right Discord account. Then click Sign in with Discord in the app and approve the new code.
