Pair the app

Pairing ties the companion app on your computer to your Guild Pro account, so uploads land on your profile and in your guild. You approve a six-character code in your browser. You never copy a password or key.

Before you start

• Install the app. See Install the companion app.
• Have your Discord login ready. The website signs you in with Discord.

Steps

1. In the app, click Sign in with Discord.
2. The app shows a code in the form XXX-XXX under “Approve this code in your browser”, and opens your browser at /pair with the code already filled in.
3. If you are not signed in on the website, click Sign in with Discord on that page. You are brought straight back to the pairing page afterwards.
4. Check that the code under Code shown in the app matches the code in the app window.
5. Click Approve. The page says “Approved — the app should connect within a few seconds.”
6. Go back to the app. It moves on by itself and the Activity list shows “this computer is connected”.

If the browser did not open, click open the page again in the app. If that fails too, the app shows “Could not open your browser. Go to” followed by the address, which you can type in by hand. You can also open /pair yourself and type the code in.

What happens next

• The first time you pair, the app offers to install the addons. See Install the addon.
• The app starts uploading as soon as the game has saved something. See How sync works.
• Characters in your saved files are attached to your account as they sync.
• The app checks who you are every time it starts, so a change of rank on the website shows up the next time you open it.

Good to know

• The code lasts 15 minutes. After that the app shows “that code expired — try connecting again”. Click Sign in with Discord again for a new code.
• A code works once. Approving a used code gives “That code has already been used.”
• Only approve a code you can see on your own screen. If a code appears that you did not ask for, click Not me. The page says “Rejected. That code is now dead.”
• Cancel in the app stops waiting for approval.
• Each computer pairs separately. Repeat these steps on every PC you play on.

Sign out

Click sign out at the bottom right of the app window. The app stops uploading until you sign in again. Your saved game data stays on disk and nothing is deleted.

If the app says it is no longer connected

The message “this computer is no longer connected — pair it again” means the app’s connection was revoked on the website. This happens if you click Roll on the /import page: rolling replaces the upload key for your whole account, which disconnects every paired computer. Click Sign in with Discord in the app and pair again.
