Create a raid

Post a signup sheet for a raid night from the website or from Discord.

A raid in Guild Pro is a signup sheet: a post in your Discord with buttons that raiders press to say whether they are coming. Officers and admins can create one from the website or with a slash command. Both make the same thing.

Before you start

  • You need the officer or admin role in the guild.
  • The bot must be in your Discord. See Install the bot.
  • To post from the website, the guild needs a signup channel. The Signups page header says “no signup channel set yet” until one exists. See Channel routes.

Create a raid on the website

  1. Open Signups in your guild’s sidebar, at /g/your-guild/signups (“your-guild” is your guild’s address).
  2. Select + New raid.
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Title - what the sheet is called. Left empty, it becomes “Raid night”.
    • Instance - the raid. The list shows each raid with its size.
    • When - the start time, in your guild’s timezone. Discord shows it to each reader in their own timezone.
    • Size - leave empty to take the size from the instance. With no instance and no size, the sheet seats 25.
    • Parses - choose Show each raider’s synced parse to print a Warcraft Logs number beside each name. It is Off by default.
    • Team - shown only if your guild has raid teams. The team decides which channel the sheet lands in.
    • Post to - leave on — where it usually goes —, or pick a channel for this one sheet. A channel marked with a warning sign is one the bot cannot post in.
    • Signups - what the sheet asks raiders for. See the table below.
  4. Select Create and post.

The sheet is posted to Discord straight away and appears under Open on the Signups page.

Signup modes

OptionWhat raiders doUse it for
One character eachSign up once, on one character. The usual raid night.
Flexible — every character they could bringSign up on every character they could bring. Each raider still takes one seat, and you pick which character.Nights where you want to choose between mains and alts.
Splits — running this more than onceSign up on several characters. Each character runs a different split.Running the same instance more than once in a lockout.

For splits, set How many splits (2 to 6) and give each split a name and a time. Splits that all share the same time are treated as groups running at once, where a raider can only be in one. Splits at different times are treated as separate runs, where the same raider is expected in each on a different character.

Post from your raid schedule

If you have set raid nights, the Signups page shows a Coming up, no signup yet card when a night is inside its notice window and has no sheet. Select Post it to open the form with the time, instance and size filled in. Nothing is posted until you select Create and post. Raid nights are set on the Raid teams page.

Create a raid in Discord

Type /raid in the channel where the sheet should appear. The options are title, instance, size, when, mode, splits and parses. The full reference is on the /raid command page.

A sheet made with /raid differs from one made on the website in three ways:

  • It is posted in the channel you typed the command in. Channel routes are not used.
  • It is not attached to a team. You can set the team later with Edit on the Signups page.
  • Splits get no times of their own. If each split needs its own time on the sheet, create it on the website.

Which raids you can pick

The Instance list is the raid list for your guild’s game. Guilds on Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria also see the raids from earlier games. An admin can turn those off in Settings by setting Legacy raids to Hide — this expansion only.

What happens next

  • Raiders sign up with the buttons on the post. See Signups.
  • If the bot cannot post, you see “Raid created, but posting failed” followed by the reason. The sheet is still listed on the Signups page but has no post in Discord. Fix the cause, close that sheet and create it again.
  • You can change the title, instance, time, size and team later with Edit. The channel and the signup mode cannot be changed after posting.
