Build the raid comp

Turn a signup sheet into groups in the Comp builder and post the roster to Discord.

The Comp builder decides who is going on one raid night. It starts from a signup sheet, seats people into groups of five, and posts the result to Discord as a roster card. This page is for officers and admins.

Before you start

  • You need a signup sheet. See Create a raid.
  • You need the officer or admin role to save or post a comp.
  • Pull roster needs a saved roster from the Roster Builder. It is optional.

Build a comp

  1. Open Comp builder in your guild’s sidebar, or select Build comp beside a sheet on the Signups page. If you have more than one sheet, pick one from the dropdown in the header.
  2. The board opens with empty seats for the sheet’s raid size. Fill it in any of these ways:
    • ⇩ Pull roster seats each team’s rostered raiders who signed up, in their usual seats.
    • ⚡ Generate builds the groups from the signups. If a team has a roster, its rostered raiders are seated first and Generate fills what is left.
    • Drag a name from the Pool onto a seat, or select the name and then the seat. Dragging onto an occupied seat swaps the two.
  3. Set Teams to build more than one group from the same sheet (1 to 4). On a split sheet this is Splits, fixed at the number of splits on the sheet.
  4. Check the cards beside each team:
    • Roster shows which saved roster the team pulls from and how many rostered raiders are seated. It lists who is Missing and why, and suggests people to Fill open seats. Select seat on a suggestion to place them.
    • Assignments lists jobs for the instance. Drag a name onto a job to assign it. Select the job to clear it.
    • Brings shows which buffs the group has and which are missing.
  5. Right-click a seated raider to make them raid leader for that team.

Your work is saved automatically. The bar shows “saved” when it is stored.

Who is in the pool

The pool holds everyone on the sheet who answered with a role, Late, Tentative or Bench. People who pressed Can’t make it are not offered. Tick + guild roster to add guild characters who have not signed up.

On a flexible or split sheet, a raider who offered several characters appears as several cards.

Auto and pinned seats

Seats placed by Pull roster or Generate are auto. They follow the signups: if that raider withdraws, the seat empties the next time you open the comp. A seat you fill or move by hand is pinned and stays put. Posting pins the whole board.

Seating rules

  • One person, one seat. A raider cannot be seated twice across the teams of one night, even on different characters.
  • On a split sheet whose splits run at different times, the rule changes. The same raider is expected in each split, but a character can be used only once, and a raider can hold only one seat within a split.
  • If someone in a saved comp is no longer signed up, their seat is left empty when you reopen it.

Post the roster

  1. If you have teams, set For to the team this comp is for.
  2. Check Posts to. It shows the channel the roster will go to. Pick another channel to send this one post somewhere else.
  3. Select Preview to see the roster card.
  4. Select Post to Discord.

The post is the roster card with four buttons: Confirm my slot, Request a swap, I can’t make it and Web view. Web view opens a text version of the roster that anyone with the link can read.

The bench

When you post, the bench is everyone who pressed Bench plus everyone who said yes or late and was not seated. The page names them before posting. Benched raiders are credited in Attendance.

What happens next

  • Raiders press a button on the post. Request a swap and I can’t make it ask for a reason and send a direct message to the officer who posted the roster. If your guild has an alert channel set, the bot also posts there, naming who is on the bench. See Channel routes.
  • Answers are collected on the Raid plan page.
