Create your guild
Add the bot to your Discord server and answer the setup questions to create your guild.
A guild on Guild Pro is created by adding the bot to a Discord server. This page is for the guild master or whoever manages the guild’s Discord.
Before you start
- Sign in first.
- You must own the Discord server or have the Manage Server permission in it. If you do not, ask whoever runs the server to do this step.
Add the bot
- Open /dashboard. If you already belong to a guild, open /me, choose the Guilds tab and click Add a Discord · set up a new guild.
- Under Set up your guild, click the Discord server your guild raids from. Each row is marked add bot.
- Approve the bot on Discord’s screen.
The bot asks to read and post in channels, and to manage channels, roles and events so it can make your signup channels. It never asks for Administrator. If you prefer, use the minimal install link under the list: the bot can then only read and post, and channel setup will ask for a second approval later.
Your guild now exists. It is named after the Discord server, and you are its admin. You are taken straight to the setup wizard.
Answer the setup questions
The wizard has nine steps. Use Next and Back, or click a completed step to return to it. Nothing is saved until you click Finish.
- Guild: Guild name, Realm (pick from the list, or choose Other / private server… and type it), Faction and Which game. Which game starts on WoW Forever. A Forever guild picks its realm from the WoW Forever group at the top of the list: Normal, PvP, Roleplay or Hardcore. Picking one of those sets the game to Forever for you.
- Style: choose We raid to clear it, Somewhere in between or We raid to push. This is the only step you cannot skip.
- Teams: set How many raid teams (1 to 10), then name each team and pick its colour.
- Nights: for each team, set the day, start time and length. Use + Add a night for more. Then set Timezone and Post the sheet (how many days ahead).
- Signups: choose One character each, Sign up on anything you can bring or We run it more than once a lockout.
- Loot: choose Rolls, Loot council, DKP or EPGP or Soft reserve. Guild Pro records loot; it does not decide who gets it.
- Channels: choose Make them for me or We already have channels. See below.
- Install: an optional Download GuildPro button for the companion app. You can skip it.
- Done: review the summary, then click Finish.
The Channels step
- Make them for me creates a GuildPro category with
#signups,#rosters,#recaps,#lootand#announcements. With more than one team, each team gets its own set, prefixed with the team name. A channel that already exists with the same name is reused, not duplicated. - We already have channels shows five pickers: Signup sheets post in, Rosters post in, Recaps post in, Loot posts in and Announcements post in. A channel marked “(bot cannot post here)” needs its permissions fixed in Discord first.
Nothing is posted to any channel until you publish a signup sheet.
What happens next
- You land on your guild’s dashboard at
/g/your-guild, where “your-guild” is your guild’s address. - If the channels could not be made or assigned, setup still succeeds and the message tells you so. Finish the job on the Bot page.
- Everything you chose is a default. Change the name, realm, address, game and timezone in Settings, and teams and raid nights on Raid teams.
- Members of your Discord server join the guild as raiders the next time they sign in.
Good to know
- Adding the bot to a server that is already connected does not create a second guild. It repairs the existing connection and takes you to the Bot page.
- The first person to add the bot becomes admin. Someone who adds it again later becomes an officer, unless they own the Discord server.
- Finishing the wizard replaces the guild’s standing raid nights with the ones you entered.
