WoW Forever launch night plan for guild officers (template)
A launch-night plan for WoW Forever guilds: who forms the guild, who invites, where to meet, and a copyable #announcements post with launch in your time zone.

In this post
- What time does launch night start?
- Who does what on launch night?
- Where should the guild meet in game?
- What should the launch-night announcement say?
- What Discord roles should exist at hour one?
- How should the guild spend the first evening?
- What should officers tick off before and during launch?
- What happens after launch night?
Write one launch-night post and pin it in #announcements before 4 November. It should say who forms the guild in game, who sends invites, which ruleset and faction you’re on, where people meet, and which Discord channel answers questions. WoW Forever opens on Wednesday 4 November at 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC).
Launch: Wednesday 4 November 2026, 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC).
What time does launch night start?
Launch is 3:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday 4 November, which is 23:00 UTC where you are. That one moment lands at very different hours around the world, so write it in your post with a Discord timestamp that converts for each reader.
| Region | Launch |
|---|---|
| US Pacific | Wed 4 Nov, 3:00 p.m. |
| US Eastern | Wed 4 Nov, 6:00 p.m. |
| UK | Wed 4 Nov, 11:00 p.m. |
| Central Europe | Thu 5 Nov, 00:00 |
US clocks go back on 1 November, so a reminder set from an October screenshot may be an hour out. Our release date post has the full time-zone table.
Who does what on launch night?
Name four jobs and put a person on each: guild founder, inviters, a Discord helper and a group organiser. If a job has no name next to it, three officers will try to do it at once, or nobody will.
| Job | What they do | Why it needs one name |
|---|---|---|
| Founder | Forms the guild in game, sets ranks and the message of the day | Only one person can make it |
| Inviters | Send invites as people log in, from the list in Discord | Saves everyone whispering one officer |
| Discord helper | Answers “what’s the guild called” and gives roles | Keeps guild chat for playing |
| Group organiser | Starts the first dungeon groups | Turns launch night into a guild night |
Pick a backup founder too. If the founder’s login queue is long, the backup forms the guild under the same name.
How is the guild formed?
Agree the exact guild name, ruleset and faction before launch, and have people online to help. In Classic, a guild starts with a charter from a guild master NPC that other players sign. Blizzard hasn’t said whether Forever changes that, so plan as if it doesn’t: have officers ready to sign the moment the founder has one.
Ranks are worth setting on the first night. Copy them from your Discord roles, so “Officer” in game means the same people as “Officer” in Discord.
Where should the guild meet in game?
In a group, not in a place. Characters don’t all start in the same zone. Zephras Isle, for one, is the Skyborne starting zone (levels 1 to 12, per Wowhead’s zone guide), so the guild won’t stand in one spot on night one.
Forever has no realms, only rulesets, and the open world has layering (see Wowhead’s report on rulesets). In Classic, grouping is what put friends in the same layer. Expect the same, and check it on the night: if you can’t see a guildmate, invite them to a group.
Two rules to put in the post, because they catch people out:
- Same ruleset only. You can’t group with someone on another ruleset, so a member on the wrong one can’t play with you at all.
- Same faction only. Horde and Alliance can’t group.
What should the launch-night announcement say?
Everything someone needs to find the guild without asking. Copy this, fill in the brackets, and pin it in #announcements on the weekend before launch.
**WoW Forever launch night**

**Ruleset:** [Normal / PvP / Roleplaying]
**Faction:** [Horde / Alliance]
**Guild name:** [Exact name, spelled the way it will be in game]
**Who forms the guild:** [Officer], backup [Officer]
**Who invites:** [Officer], [Officer], [Officer]
Whisper any of them, or post your character name in #leveling.
**Where to meet:** group up with guildmates, not in one spot.
Starting zones split us up, so level where you start.
First guild dungeon groups: from around level 13 in #leveling.
**Before launch:**
- Install WoW Forever (Battle.net > Game Version > World of Warcraft: Forever)
- Update your addons the weekend before
- Answer the roster call in #roster-call if you haven't
Questions on the night go in #help, not guild chat.
The <t:...> codes are Discord timestamps. Each reader sees launch in their own
time zone, with a live “in 3 days” next to it.
What Discord roles should exist at hour one?
Make the roles before people arrive: Officer, Raider, Member and Recruit, plus a role for the Forever channels if your Discord also runs another game. Launch week is when new members join, and every one of them should land somewhere that tells them where to go.
Our Discord template for WoW guilds has a full channel and role layout. For launch night, the essentials are a pinned announcement, a channel for invites, and a channel for questions.
How should the guild spend the first evening?
Level where you start, then pull the guild together for the first dungeons. Forever’s new dungeons start with Hall of Thanes (13 to 18, Alliance, under Ironforge) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15 to 20, Horde), alongside the classic ones. The full list is in Wowhead’s dungeon overview.
A dungeon at 13 is a few hours in for most people, so the first guild group is often late on launch night or the next evening. Say so in the post, so nobody waits around.
What should officers tick off before and during launch?
This list, in order. Your ticks save in this browser, and the button copies it for your officers’ channel.
- Agree the guild name, ruleset and faction (in writing)
- Name the founder, a backup founder and the inviters
- Make the Discord roles and an invites channel
- Post and pin the launch-night announcement
- Officers install WoW Forever and update addons the weekend before
- Founder logs in at launch and forms the guild
- Inviters invite everyone who posts a name
- Set guild ranks and the message of the day
- Post the first dungeon group in #leveling
- Next day: post raid nights and run a new roster call
What happens after launch night?
Settle the week: raid nights, a fresh roster call, and dungeon nights. The raids open on 9 December, per Wowhead’s Forever roadmap. That’s five weeks to level, gear and learn who is actually playing what.
People change their minds on launch night. Someone who planned a priest is suddenly a Skyborne hunter. Run your roster call again in the first week, so the list you plan raids from matches the characters people really made.
Before launch, add Forever as its own guild page in GuildPro and give it its own
Discord channels. Then /rostercall asks everyone for a main and alts, and
nobody needs an account to answer. Each call is kept as its own version, so the
launch-week call sits beside the October one.
Add Forever to your guild covers
the setup, and the free app at /download puts the addons in the
Forever client before the night.
Launch night is one step. The rest, from name reservation to raid nights, is in our WoW Forever guild checklist.
FAQ
What time does WoW Forever launch?
Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST, which is 6:00 p.m. Eastern and 23:00 UTC. In Central Europe it is already 00:00 on 5 November.
Who should create the guild on launch night?
Decide in advance. Pick one officer to form the guild in game and a second as backup, and agree the exact guild name and the ruleset before the servers open.
Can guild members on different rulesets play together?
No. In WoW Forever you can only group with players on the same ruleset, and never with the other faction. Post the ruleset and faction in your launch announcement.
Should the whole guild level together on launch night?
Usually not. Starting zones split people up, so level where you start and meet for dungeons once people reach the first ones at around level 13.
