WoW Forever launches with 9 new dungeons, from Hall of Thanes (13 to 18) to Shaper’s Terrace (58 to 60), alongside all the classic ones. The easiest way to run them as a guild is a weekly dungeon night where people sign up by level bracket, so groups form from whoever is close in level that week.

What are the 9 new dungeons in WoW Forever?

Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site: Wetlands, City of Dalaran, The Drowned City, Krol’dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace. Move the slider above to your level to see which ones fit.

The levels come from Wowhead’s dungeon overview, which has more on each one. The ranges may still shift from the beta, so check them again after 4 November.

A few have their own Wowhead guides already, for example Excavation Site: Wetlands and City of Dalaran. Read those for strategy. This post is about getting the guild into them.

Are the classic dungeons still in WoW Forever?

Yes. Every classic dungeon is still there alongside the new nine. That means there is something at almost every level, and a dungeon night never has to wait for one of the new ones to be in range.

The new dungeons fill gaps. Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron give each faction an early dungeon of its own. Krol’dok Stronghold sits in Riverglades, one of Forever’s new zones, and Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace give the top end two more options at 60.

How do you run guild dungeon nights while everyone is levelling?

Pick one night a week, take signups by level bracket, and let groups form inside each bracket. In the first weeks the guild will be spread from 15 to 50, so one group for everyone doesn’t work. Three or four groups at once does.

Brackets that line up with the new dungeons:

BracketNew dungeons in rangeNight’s aim
13–20Hall of Thanes, Ruins of LordaeronFirst guild groups
24–33Excavation Site: Wetlands, City of DalaranMid-levelling
35–45The Drowned City, Krol’dok StrongholdThe long middle
48–60Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold, Shaper’s TerraceGear for raids

A few habits make these nights work:

What does a good dungeon night look like?

A fixed start time, groups posted before it, and one officer who keeps the list. A sample evening for a guild of about 20 people online:

TimeWhat happens
19:45Groups posted in #leveling, by bracket
20:00Groups form and travel. Anyone without a group says so
20:15First pulls
21:30Second run for groups that want one, or swap members around
22:00Officer notes who came, who tanked and healed, and who’s close to the next bracket

The last line is the useful one. After three or four weeks, those notes tell you who your reliable tanks and healers are, long before the first raid.

If you end up with a spare tank and no healer, don’t hold the group. Send the tank to another bracket on an alt, or run a classic dungeon the group can manage with what it has. A night where everyone plays something beats a night of waiting for the perfect group.

Who gets the loot in a WoW Forever dungeon?

Items drop as usual, but appearances are awarded to the whole group. When a dungeon drops gear, everyone in the group gets the appearance, even if only one person gets the item. Transmog is optional in Forever: players can turn it off and see base models.

That takes some heat out of dungeon loot. Losing a roll on a good-looking item costs a lot less when you keep the look anyway.

For the items themselves, agree a simple rule for guild groups before the first night. An item goes to whoever will use it as an upgrade is enough for dungeons. Save the bigger loot conversation for the raids.

Do dungeons drop anything for professions?

Yes. Higher tiers of each profession’s camp object come from Blueprints that drop from dungeon bosses. If your guild is building towards a full camp, dungeon nights are where those Blueprints come from. Our guide to covering every profession across your guild explains the camp system.

Do dungeons count towards the Legacy system?

Yes. Dungeons are one of the challenge types that earn Legacy Points. Legacy Points are account-wide and are spent in a Legacy Tree on non-combat perks, per Wowhead’s Legacy system guide.

Because the points are account-wide, a guild member levelling an alt through dungeons is still earning for their account. That’s a good reason to welcome alts into dungeon nights instead of treating them as second-class.

Which dungeons matter for a raiding guild?

The level-60 ones: Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace. The first raids open on 9 December: Barrow Deeps (10-player), Hyjal Summit (20-player) and Onyxia’s Lair (40-player). Bosses, tier sets and attunements aren’t announced yet.

Until they are, dungeons at 60 are where your raiders gear up and where officers see who shows up on time, knows their class and is good company. A month of dungeon nights tells you a lot about your first raid roster. Our raid prep guide for 9 December picks up from there.

A GuildPro signup sheet works for dungeon nights too. On the website, create a raid with no instance and choose Splits, with every split at the same time. Each split is one group (name them by bracket), and a raider can only be in one. People sign up from the buttons in Discord, on every character they could bring. Create a raid explains splits, and /world shows the Forever world leaderboards once the levelling starts.

Dungeon nights are one part of getting a guild through its first month. The rest is in our WoW Forever guild checklist.
